John Madden's 1st NHL point is an asisst on a Brian Rolston power play ripper, against the San Jose Sharks. Ironic too, that Madden asissted Rollie for his 1st point, as at the time Rolston was noted for his shorthanded prowess, and of course, Madden became a penalty killing stud with the Devils

  • I think this was the game that Owen Nolan scored shorthanded with less than 2 minutes left to tie the game and Marleau won it with a breakaway in overtime with 5 seconds left? It was either this game or the 99-00 season.

  • This was also aired on Fox Sports Bay Area in my hometown, The San Francisco Bay Area. Plus, John Madden of the NJ Devils should not to be confused with former Oakland Raiders head coach John Madden.
