Well it's finally happening! Got all the parts in from NewEgg and I'll be assembling this beast (AMD Scorpius Platform(AM3+ socket, FX CPU, & 6800 series GPU)) in the next couple of days. Everything together costed $540 with $45 in mail in rebates. After rebates I am still under the budget! I did this through lots of bargain hunting. NewEgg has great prices and great offers!

--Parts List--
Case: Corsair Carbide 400R
Mobo: ASUS M5A78L-M LX AM3+ Socket
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5
PSU: Corsair CX500 V2 80+ Certified
CPU: AMD FX Zambezi 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Quad Core
RAM: 8GB DDR3 G.Skil Ripjaws Series (the combo deal on NewEgg came with 4GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 that I won't be using)
HDD: 500GB Seagate 7200 RPM Drive
Extra: AOC PCI High Performance Exhaust Fan

  • Should have went with the 960T. Phenom II beats Bulldozer and it's possible to unlock to 6 core.

  • @shadx411 it was a combo deal. thats why it was such a low price. I'll take the bulldozer over the outdated phenom any day though. FX rapes the Phenom in multi threaded applications, and i can overclock the hell out of my FX. lol

  • @mrgeo20 even though you overclock it most likely be performing as the phenom at stock there were so many bugs and there making a verion 2 of it that will perform like the bulldozer suppose to perform

  • @skylune805 The FX is still way cheaper and uses the new AM3+ socket. My OC'd FX definitely performs better than a stock phenom. lol. The bugs have already been fixed and the new line, even the new FX processors that were announced today, will be more powerful and better than ever.

  • @mrgeo20 Would it be possible to use a 430Watt power supply from corsair instead of a 500Watt?

  • @korvgubben2031 No, the 6850 has a minimum requirement of about a~500 watt PSU.

  • what gaming Laptop or Pc would you recommend to run like Gta 4 and simulators on? -please reply:

  • no i mean a video in online(multiplayer)(that you record a game)

  • what is you graphics card rate and what is your gaming expirience rate

  • Intro song please :D

  • @shadx411 Piledriver and all new AMD processors use AM3+, upgrade in the future will be super easy so i'm not worried. There is no other computer out there that can perform on the level of mine for the price I paid, so I am happy.
