Mick Fealty's pitch for a deliberative approach to Irish blogging, made for the Blogging and Social Media Conference in Dublin by the European Commission Representation in Ireland.
Today's journalistic standards seem to follow the rule that one should never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Mainstream media has become in many cases nothing more than a mouth piece for the establishment or the opposition. The selling of news as a commodity and the overt bias which it displays for its own agenda has isolated the media from its core values of truth and justice. The internet with its ability to allow anyone to broadcast their views has the ability to reverse this.
