I kick ass at singing on Rock Band but playing the stupid ass guitar with the five buttons? WTF? i'm a lead guitarist 4 my band and i know rhythm... the rhythm in Rock Band is WAAAAYYYYY off and 4 u assholes that say playing rock band helps u learn guitar ur wrong... go play a real guitar not this shit

I was playing Guitar Hero one day and my dad said something to the effect of "You know, you could be playing a real instrument and maybe get somewhere." So I did.
A year and a half later I'm playing lead in a thrash metal band, working on a demo with a few gigs lined up for spring and summer.
The game may be lame as hell, but if it gets kids away from this synthesized, autotuned garbage.. It can't be bad.

I think people who are good at rock band... aren't that impressive when artists fail their own songs

GH and RB suck. It does get more non musicians interested in actually playing music but most people don't have the desire to actually practice on a real instrument or the money to buy a quality instrument. I've played GH and RB and it wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe if I never studied music or played several instruments before trying these games I might enjoy it more but it felt too fake and mechanical to me.

Even though the kids cant perform on stage like the real KISS. Rockband and guitar hero have gotten a lot of kids interested into listening and playing music. That cant be a bad thing.
