@Voluptuousgirly My father said Oliver Reed was incredibly cruel aswell, he would catch puffins on the cliffs, then rip thier multi coloured beaks off, and use them as devil horns to frighten the local children.

My father worked on this film as assistant director, he said Oliver Reed insisted all the pebbles on the beach were cleaned and polished, .. this took over 6 months to achieve, .. they had to enlist the help of every citizen of Lyme Regis where it was filmed. They worked in shifts around the clock to satisfy Mr Reeds pebble quest.

Oliver Reed was so young and handsome at this time in his life. He looked great in the 60's and 70's but the drinking started to take it's toll on him and his looks started to fade. He acted strange and burnt out from the alcohol. It was so sad that he died at only 61yrs. old. He looked good as Bill Sykes in Oliver and as Jon La Bete in The Trap. But I was and always will be in love with him. That "sexy beast " was sooooo sexy!!!! Denise9482

Michael Winner might be out of fashion, and it's true to say that he did (after a brilliant start) churn out several nasty, vigilante-themed films. That said, The System (aka The Girl-Getters in the U.S., where it was heavily cut) is a great film and deserves a high-quality DVD release, complete with commentary and other extras.
