WARNING: This movie was rated R for cinemas at the time. A little fan vid for THE HUNGER (1983), directed by Tony Scott, with Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon. The music is a remix that I made of the middle part of Yma Sumac's "Ataypura".

No copyright abuse intended, but if the owners mind, the video will be deleted, of course.

  • @MultiCathy1 You're welcome. I agree about the type of horror - not just regarding special effects, but also regarding gory violence. I also prefer the psychological kind.

  • Yes...it was a shocking movie, i remember it impressed me very much! A one of those old psychologic horrors without computer's affects..nothing is flying or appears from nowhere....but you are scared very much of what you see and the very story. I personally prefer old horrors. ..and I love David Bowie!

    Thank you for this vid!

  • @aplantage

.......i was judging based on their acting.

  • @zerokomma I would say the same of Jane Fonda. But I would limit it to someone's acting, not make claims about a person. One doesn't really know them, ie how far they just can't convey their emotions in their acting or even feel they are not supposed to, because coldness has become part of their established image.

  • @aplantage

have to watch it again.....dont usually like her to be honest. Pretty woman but somehow dead inside.

Tipp at least had some spark despite her lack of talent but ill give it a second view.

  • @zerokomma Sure, Deneuve is the "cool blond" archetype. It's funny how in the last sequence she is attacked not only by the undead, but also by doves, which is very reminiscent of Tippy Hedren in THE BIRDS. But Deneuve gets some emotional moments in this, which she does very well, and she's also a more sadistic than masochistic type here (in contras to some of her other movies). Sarandon is less "perfect", but very sexy nonetheless, of course.

  • @aplantage

i like Susan more....Deneuve has something extremely cold about her. Not talking about her in this film though, she did fit in the role quite good.

  • @aplantage

    ...it counts, it counts.

  • @zerokomma Well, Bowie and Deneuve are gorgeous. :-) A good of one Sarandon that fit the narrative was difficult to choose, that's why she comes in a bit late, as a kind of flashback.

  • @davidfromlille Thank you very much! I don't usually like horror films, but I do like sexy films, and this one is one of the sexiest vampire films ever.
