The look says it - Harts - Trinidad carnival 2009

It didnt matter where you walked sooner or later you bounced up a carnival band that made the streets impassable. Carnival bands were divided by many sections and populated by women of all creeds, heights and sizes. The harem were protected by a sea of security with some men imitating a SWATT tactic team.

Carnival 2009 left you wondering and totally forgetful to what you had witness on a rather light cool and drizzly Tuesday. Female masqueraders took their time to look their best and one went a little further to catch the spotlight. The pair of stiletto heels she said were kept on for the duration of dance then taken off once in a while to alleviate the pressure. No matter the disparity in gender, women ruled the streets and their bodies by shaking off any juvenile boy who tried to steal a wine.

Harts had its share of revelry as displayed by this Hart-o-lite. She eagerly wanted to show that she knew it all, and that raising her arm you needed a flag along with a bit more vigor in music. But then, a imperfection in the road tripped her concentration. One wonders if she was trying too hard. - Bless her blue poom poom (hart). Along Mucurapo road, Trinidad. West Indies, a masquerader chipped to another beat.

It should be noted that a reader has explained that the masquerader is from a newly formed carnival band called ELEMENTS and the presentation is CASINO ROYALE..at the time of this video, the band was behind HARTS, so that probably accounts for the error.

well as one of the people responsible 4 the trucks in harts band...i am obliged to comment...i don't mind lowing it down ( saves speakers)....but my volume level is set not be me....but by the band leader....he's the one who always wants it louder...besides..if the bass is 2 hard...move away from the BASS SPEAKERS ..u all walk directly at the side of the bass cabinets ..then complain that its 2 loud..smh

yeah the music was real out of control this year dread. too damn loud. i was a masquerader in hearts too and i found sometimes the bigger trucks went too far with the volume they used all you hearing is bass :(

just came across your vids...great stuff, esp the archives, good to share our beginnings etc. One correction however, this is footage of the brand new carnival band ELEMENTS !!  2009 was this band's maiden foray into the Mas' World.... the presentation is called CASINO ROYALE.. I was most present and had a time and a half..!!! ;)
