Quick tips:
- Push the XFade Curve (in 5 LFO) up so it isn't so linear.
- Try modulating the resonance on Lowpass 4, you can get some interesting formant sounds with it...
- Try turning up the Unisono (in Voices) to thicken it up.
- Either try detuning the Oscillators (by nudging the .00 part of the pitch up or down a few points) or use the lightly add the Chorus FX to widen/thicken the sound.
- Beef up the Low Shelf, push up the High Shelf and experiment with the Frequency knob in EQ.

@4g0ny It's following to a 'T' by the way :)

@mikecrevil It's not as simple as you'd think, creating an organic, warm sounding kick or snare drum is far from the ability of Massive (I'm sure someone could give it a shot though). :)

@MrDaoJones Same sort of thing goes with drums. If you compress them, you'll most likely lose the dynamics of them, but you might get more audible drum sounds, and a more level range of them.
If you have great samples first, you'll be fine. For my kicks, snares etc I layer them individually, and only add subtle compression if needed. Compression isn't everything though, in some cases it can make your song sound flat and lifeless. Either way, use your ears, practice makes perfect!

@MrDaoJones The answer to this and other music production questions is: use your ears. If you want to compress something, just fiddle with the settings/knobs/parameters, until you're satisfied.
You don't really need compression on your midbass anyway, if you've EQed it right, and it sits nicely with your sub then you should be right. But if you're really bothered, send the sub and midbass to a channel with subtle compression. If it sounds great already, don't add it!

@iamlouisbullock thanks mate, will have a go later :)

Hi Distance, in your sub bass tutorial you spoke a little bit about compression. What do you recommend as far as compression for mid range bass? Also, do you think you could do something concerning drums and drum processing (EQ, Compression, etc). Thanks!

fucking awesome tutorial. distance, you da man.

VenomDubstepOfficial is my account also, if anyone's confused.

@izmakak I meant automate, sorry about that. It means you grab either an LFO or envelope's '+' symbol, drag it into the first small box in the row of boxes under one of the huge knobs, then release. Then you drag your cursor up or down on the '+' symbol, to get the motion path of the knob showing. That's what the coloured ring that appears is. You'll get the hang of it mate :)

@TheDjDistance My mistake, I said modulate, not automate. I mean automate the resonance etc. :)
@venomDubstepOfficial Modulate what? Everything that is modulated in this tutorial has been explained.
