The locos engine is used to generate power for the coaches as well as pushing or pulling the train, but the EMD710 engine isn`t really designed to do both, so after just one journey the engine is well & truly ducked!
And thats why another loco has to be used to take the train back to Belfast. Listen to the idle speed as the train pulls in.
