No Copyright infringement is intended. I merely wanted to showcase another favorite song by guitar legend Roy Buchanan. This track was used years ago behind the "Local Forecast" segment on The Weather Channel. I went bonkers for many years tryiing to find out the artist and title of this tune. With the help of Weather Channel Music maven Matt, he found the info, and thankfully let me in on it. It opened up a whole wonderful world of discovery of Buchanan's music... but it was bittersweet to learn that he had passed away. His music is just as dear to me as anything Hendrix, Page, Clapton, Beck or Santana have ever played. I can just envision kicking back with a tall cool something to sip on, watching the sun set while this tune plays. R.I.P., Roy. And thank you so much for your wonderful music.

  • I purchased 3 of Roys alblums in the late 80's from the Alligator label and I did not even know he had passed on.

  • @strangeuniverse1 You will find more info on his passing awy on Wikipedia. It made me very sad when I discovered it. Roy's guitar talent was incredible!

  • hey thanks to put this i never heard this one, great!!"

  • @latinonyam you are very welcome. :) I first heard this several years ago behind the "Local Forecast" part of Weather Channel, and tried for nearly 12 YEARS to find out the song title / artist.... I'm *so* glad I got that info, thanks to my friend Matt, who is a Weather Channel music afficionado. Sadly, Roy Buchanan is deceased, but I'd like to hope that he's smiling in the hereafter, knowing that we still love his music.

  • the melody still brings heavy emotion to my heart, every time....and then the quadruple-timed staccato breaks the mood, and then back to crying on the guitar.....what a fucking legend this man was!! I can recall vivid memories from youth, when my father would blast this record (phonograph) on high volume, to sweep us away...

  • try this one on youtube all you fans of this song ,,samurai trucks on tracks summer and winter pretty cool tune there

  • Roy Buchanan forever!

  • This song drove me nuts on TWC too! I can't tell you how many times I sat by the T.V., recorder in hand, waiting for this song to play.

  • @skoozeroni Roy may have had help dieing. Danny Gatton it seems just shot himself. Gary Moore is also gone. Not sure what the deal was there. Thanks for posting this. Its too hot to order vinyl now. Maybe in November. I am holding my breath a Glen Campbell early model Ovation arrives without cracking. It is the straight acoustic with a Baldwin pick up in the case uninstalled. It may be worth more than the guitar. Jerry Reed, Willie Nelson, Jerry Reed, etc all loved that pick up for acoustic.

I do recall hearing this on TWC from 1989 - 1995. I wrote to them, they sent me a copy of their playlist. I went to a local library & listened to every one, It was not on the list. I then recorded a part of it & asked them to identify this great tune for me. Caroline Beasley was in charge of music at TWC at the time, she sent me the name of the track & the CD it was from & thanked me for my interest in TWC. I bought the CD in 1991. This is one classic song

  • amazing song. RIP Roy Buchanan..
