@Taenyr Hi Taenyr, I was sitting in Symphony hall Boston listening to Sam perform a Handel aria. can't recall which it was. Anyway, at the end he interpolated and held a low C2. You can hear him briefly hit D flats in Mephistopheles here on Youtube. I heard him sing those notes at the MET. It's by far the most incredible voice i have ever heard in person.

@Taenyr I've always marvelled at Ramey's exceptionally wide vocal range. The low notes are exquisite and the upper register keeps going up and up and up into the stratosphere. A unique and very special voice indeed!

@juergenmenzel I have head a recording of Samuel Ramey singing the high G, and I've been told he's gone up to the A. I've also heard his low F - maybe even an E - and I heard somewhere that he's gone all the way down to a C2 in performance (if anyone knows where I can find a recording of that, I'd be delighted to know). In any case, he has an amazing range and a great sound throughout.

@juergenmenzel He is only i'm only a bass

OMG! I'm glad I was sitting down when I watched this video! I'm just stunned!

His range is absolutely awesome, going from a low G to an E seamlessly, almost 2 octaves higher, without sacrificing any of his brilliance and resonance. He must be a great inspiration to all those aspiring young bass-baritone singers out there.
