Yes it is a lot of show... people would be bored otherwise. Actualy every Martial Arts Movie would be boring as hell if we would focus on realistic aspects more.
Remember; I did not say these techniques won't work. In reality, if you are not trained in falling and know the locks which are applied, it would just snap and some joints would break. Not fency but ugly ;)

the "attackers" are definitely hamming it up! some of the techniques are simple. The cane techniques are advanced.
