Pope Benedict XVI on Friday warned against religious indifference and the risk that the flame of faith can fade or die in many places in the world. It was for this reason that he has proclaimed a Year of the Faith. Benedict XVI emphasized these aspects speaking today at the plenary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
The Pope referred to the theme of ecumenism, discussed in the Plenary, noting that the ecumenical movement must proceed deepening the ecclesiological doctrine, in a manner consistent with the Second Vatican Council and Tradition. Furthermore, the Pope expressed the hope that, the Christian denominations in the future will be able speak with one ethical and moral voice.
