My long overdue range test of my gun and a random range test of another gun.
150+ft isn't tested here, maybe next time when it's not scorching outside.

Echo 1 Vector Arms MP5A4 RAS
8.4v 1500mAH Large Type Ni-Cd Battery
Airsoft Elite .20g BB's
Verdict:
At 50 feet, the gun is pretty much dead accurate. You can't miss. It'll always go where you're aiming.
At 100 feet, the sub-par hop-up unit starts to show as other things besides my shaking hands start to take a effect on accuracy. The hop-up sometimes causes the BB's to spit out to the side a few times. Groupings at this range are about 2 feet. Granted your target is an average human being 100 feet away, you'll most likely light him up real bad.
For $150, it may seem slightly overpriced, but the gun does have a body made mostly of metal. The gun definitely performs, but the high velocity (400fps) calls for other upgrades to support the extra wind resistance (better hop-up, tightbore barrel, use of heavier BB's)

Galaxy MP5K
8.4v 1100mAH Stick Type Ni-MH Battery
Airsoft Elite .20g BB's
Verdict:
At 100 feet, the gun gets the job done. Though very underpowered in this comparison (315fps vs the 400fps of the E1 MP5A4 RAS), the gun benefits from a disgustingly good hop-up unit. For under $100, it's definitely a good value.
Hey, I am thinking about getting this gun, would it be okay for a main gun for a small wooded area? I am mostly worried about its range.

its range is just fine. you should be able to hit people 150ft away relatively easily.

echo1 is galaxy.......
nous3foranam3 2 years ago
for the mp5k series, yes, but it is labeled here as galaxy as that was it was listed and purchased as.
the same goes for why i listed the mp5 ras as echo 1 and not jg.

1. For the most part. If you look up JG and E1 models, you'll find that they're very similar. Typically, JG's have slightly higher failure rates, but they're relatively low to begin with so it's nothing to worry about.
2. Apparently their customer service just sucks. I've never ordered from them, but I remember the last time I browsed their site and it just seemed like all the specs for the guns were all off. A lot of guns were rated (fps, range, etc) a lot more than they actually were and such.
