  • She is one of the classiest and most beautiful ladies I ever met. It was 76?,and I was one of Marvin Haglers sparring partners, just a kid at Petronellis Gym. I hung out w/Marvins brother Robbie. One nite I went over Robbies after the gym, when Marvin shows up,all excited. He was outside in a Limo taking Donna to some premiere in Boston. She came in,let us take pics, she was so nice to us. We were nobodys, but she treated us like somebodys. What a classy, beautiful lady. I still have my pic.

  • Thumbs up if like me this is your theme tune..."cos when I'm bad I'm so so bad"

I agree. In many of those performances involving elaborate dancing, the singer ends up having to lip-sync to a recording-----otherwise, they'd be too breathless to do their best job singing (which is, after all, what they're there for). I'd rather see less fancy movements, and focus on the singing----especially when the singer is as great as this one.

  • she is cool:-))))))))

  • @carolinaguy1973 I know what you mean by stage presence. A lot of modern singers don't have that. There's hidden gems in the music industry that can really put on a great show with voice AND stage presence, I totally agree. But sometimes, the singer's song, voice, and just the way they 'stand stiff' puts on a lot more of a show presence. Like, somtimes less is more. In this performance, she had so much power with her voice and energy that she didn't need to add any more stage presence, IMO. =)

  • Yesterday, today, tomorrow there is no one out there like Donna.

Other veteran singers (Diana, Patti, Bette) are big on glitter and gltiz, but fall short when it comes to vocals in a full concert. Donna has always kept the focus where is should be at any concert, the songs and the vocals. As other posters have mentioned there is also Donna's personality that makes you feel in a very real way, that you are spending time with a dear friend. Treasure this icon for as long as we can !

  • @AntiMale Agreed. I'm going to see Diana Ross next month. I'm looking forward to her songs, and her voice, but being who she is, she will put on a spectacle, and I like that. Her show will be clean (unlike the singers today who feel the need to exploit themselves) great songs and great singing, in my opinion, and a great coreographed show. In my opinion, all that makes for a great stage performance.

  • lool i am a lonely girl from the uk

  • @carolinaguy1973 I now agree with what you said, after watching some Selena videos. I loved her live show.

I NOW think it's even more important to be a performer on stage than it is to sing the song.

  • l love Donna Summer.

  • @marytschida Agreed.

When I refer to stage presence, I mean great entertainers like Bette Midler, Diana Ross, Patti LaBelle that gives you a show. Staging, Dancing, chereography, etc. No, these modern day pop tarts that uses T&A and computerzied voices are not good in my opinion.
