Level Design: Jason Woronicz (aka DJB)
Music: Edward Harrison (aka Logic)

Note: This video has been around since June of 2006. Video uploaded for archival purposes. Project has changed a bit from its last media release.

Interesting to note here is that over the years since 2006 (oh god, development hell), a lot of landmarks were revamped, and entire areas were deleted to streamline gameplay. The office section was also removed and transplanted into nt_ujiwa, as you can see in DJB's 2008 level design sampler.

  • is there a older version of the NT soundtrack? because im liking this version more than the refined album version

  • @looopandlooop AFAIK, there are 3 versions of the soundtrack:

    1) Neotokyo UT2K4 version. All electronic without instruments. Darker tone. I definitely have some favorites from this batch.

    2) There was an internal sampler album that Logic released to the developers and testers (about half the number). Instrument samples introduced. My backups were carelessly lost but I remember that someone kept a copy precisely because he liked the older track versions.

    3) Retail with actual instrumentals.

  • Seeing this and knowing I'll never be able to play it makes me sad. :(

  • @phongbong I just noticed that the maps nt_saitama_ctg and nt_marketa_ctg have been "leaked" and are making the rounds on a Agiel's server. They are legitimate versions, so with any luck you can try them out and see why they have the b(eta) label slapped on them. :)

  • For anybody interested, the song in the background is what Ed Harrison eventually released as 'Automata'.

For my money, he should have left this song as it was; Automata sounds way too overworked.

    Hi FCC. =P

  • @Strike86

For some reason I really like the older NT:UT version of 'Beacon' due to the darker mood (or I may just be hearing things). ;)

  • if u ever have the link to the all the older pieces please let me know =)

  • @FriedchikenCamo i wonder why no one keeps such things when they later might get removed, think the map wasn't worse or so. and this nt_drift_ctg was the first map for neotokyo? someone compiled the vmt to the bsp and i could see it and it really looks like the first one the big hall there funny xD big but empty at most places.

  • @Hinatadan

This map was only available to beta testers during early development of Neotokyo. Since then, the map has disappeared from later public and private releases. I personally neglected to back up my copy of the map.

  • does this map someone still has? would like to have it, thx if someone can upload it.
