Experiment installation in museum of transport, Luzern.
Rotating half-sphere is big enough to cover your whole field of view when you stand next to it. Creates powerful effect of moving through space, when you actually standing motionless.

I used to simulate the same effect with high-FOV head mounted displays, and it works pretty damn well. Unfortunately this effect cannot be achieved on consumer low-FOV HMD's.

  • maybe the effect can be reproduced with a large TV?

i sometimes play high-FOV computer games with my head right up close to the screen, to make the effect better.
