Toronto Pig 'Saviors' Sing Christmas Carols at Quality Meat Packers on Christmas Day

Discover the true meaning of Christmas with Toronto Pig Save this Christmas Day. TPS Choir sings adapted Christmas Carols at Quality Meat Packers' unloading area at 677 Wellington St. West on Sunday, December 25, 2011.

And what would Christmas be without Santa delivering presents to all our friends and especially the most needy? Across the Atlantic, a German Santa who prepares trays of carrots, apples and pears and enters a factory farm and hand feeds the pigs. Inspired by the German Santa, Toronto's Santa and his elf o down to the pen at Quality Meat Packers and attempt to bring the pigs gifts of apples, carrots, and other delicious treats.

Also, see a rough-cut video at http://youtu.be/FfGiwGCXDcU of the pigs suffering from frostbite and hypothermia from extreme cold on Friday, December 23, 2011 when it felt like -10 degrees Celsius and closer to an astounding -30 degrees Celsius for the pigs travelling in transport trucks on the highway at 80 km/hr. After Natalie Marconi, Matt Noble and Anita Krajnc bore witness of the horrific conditions of the pigs suffering from frost-bite and hypothermia, there was a confrontation with Quality Meat Packers management in which police laid trespassing charges against a Toronto Pig Save activist (Anita Krajnc) bearing witness on location at Quality Meat Packers' unloading area. No unnecessary cruelty to animals charges were laid on trucking companies or Quality Meat Packers.
