@soggydan1 Yeah, but learning "generic" metal songs, you learn the fundamentals of the genre. You have to know the rules in order to be able to break them effectively.

Just out of interest mate, who would ever want to do that? Generic metal songs are a bit pish.

@soggydan1 This is just how I learnt to write, in my experience music is about breaking rules not ignoring them. Also i don't intend people to use this guide alone, everything is just a tool and the more you have the better off you are.
