Composed by Vittorio Monti in 1904, this is a popular song for accordion players as well as for violinists. I'm playing the Roland FR-7x V-Accordion for this version, using the onboard 7x voices as always. Although I experimented with violin and orchestral voices for the treble, I ultimately decided to emphasize the acoustic accordion throughout, with a touch of strings added for effect.
If you are interested in purchasing a collection of 13 sets created for the Roland 7x, please email me. The sets include a variety of styles including Italian, German, French, Country, Rock, Latin, Big Band, Orchestral, and several all-purpose sets--with and without rhythms. The sets have been painstakingly developed over a period of months. Programming instruction is also available.

  • Richard,

You are absolutely amazing. I love the way you combine expression with flawless technique. I've listened to this, Malageuena and Radetzky March many times, and I am floored every time. I've let others who are hearing a digital accordion for the first time, and they are equally moved...Bravo. It just seems that every piece you play, that that's the way it was meant to be played.

Was there a big transition from acoustic to digital for you...in other words, easy to adapt?

    Tom

  • Tom,

Thanks for the generous compliment. As far as transitioning to the digital from the acoustic, I found it quite easy, and knew right away that I was unlikely to return to the acoustic.

    Richard

  • Wow Richard, What a fantastic job you did on Czardas. There are many postings of this piece on YT but this ranks right up near the top. Even those by former Coupe Mondial winners are not any better. Keep up the great work. SN

  • I love the piece, but seldom get a chance to play it. The 7x adds a little extra flavor to the song, IMHO. Thanks for the comments.

    Richard

  • Richard, this is fantastic. Great instrumentation, perfect musicality and superb technique. It is definitely one of the best interpretation of this piece. I totally agree with Leon: professional video in every aspect. I noticed that you have put a bit more reverb and I think it suits perfect to the Czardas.

    Silvia

  • Thanks Silvia. As usual, you pick up on all of the nuances. I did use a bit more reverb, especially after seeing how good it sounded on your sets. I also used the internal USB for recording this time, which seems to pick up more of the reverb.

  • This is perhaps the best performance of Czardas Monti that I have seen played on the accordion. Professionally orchestrated, professionally played, professionally recorded. Beautiful tonal quality and dynamic range. It's hard to believe that all this can be done on a single instrument.

  • EXCELSO. EN MI PAÍS (MÉXICO) HAY UN INSTRUMENTO PARECIDO AL OBJETO MÁGICO QUE TOCA EL TIPO DEL VIDEO. SE LE LLAMA ACORDEÓN NORTEÑO Y ÚLTIMAMENTE SE USA PARA DARLE SATISFACCIÓN A UN MONTÓN DE INDIOS PENDEJOS AMANTES DE LA COCAÍNA Y LOS DÓLARES, EN MELODÍAS ESTÚPIDAS LLAMADAS "CORRIDOS". USTEDES, EUROPA DEL NORTE, POR FAVOR NO VOMITEN ANTE ESTAS DEGRADACIONES.
