MEASURING A 225 POUND ENGLISH WAR BOW

Here we are measuring a heavy English WARBOW of 225 pounds. It was a first attempt at a 250 pounder./ We learned that the thickness needs a little bit more !!
Wish I was strong enough to shoot the thing! Got more staves set aside for the 250 Big Boy. we will give it another try in a few days or amaybe a couple of weeks. right now we have to get some orders prepared and out the door. This is really fun.

Mount the bow in a gastraphetes tiller. Then you can fire it easily. Provided you weigh enough to span it.

You would have to be like 7 feet tall to pull a bow with a length of 36 inches. There are people who could pull it if it was shorter?

Wow you see how the bow looses energy if you hold it drawn. The best seems to shoot immediately without long aiming.. Another thing: it surprises me that the limbs are not that thick. For a 225 lbs longbow I assumed it would look like a tree..
