@boscombefun Yes, I'm french, so I think I can easily understand the global meaning of this song. The problem I have with the translation is the problem lots of translations suffer of... In fact, the translation has been made word by word, matching the french sentence's construction with the english ones. As a matter of fact, I think that we loss without fail a part of the original meaning of the lyrics.

I don't think that translating a song is the best way to understand it. This translation is far from being perfect and doesn't really keeps the original idea of the poet.
