@Jan159937 I'm sorry you're pedantic too! lol Dionne Warwick's mother and Whitney Houston's mother were SISTERS, therefore, they are first cousins. A little research on your part can bear this out. In fact, Ms. Warwick has a new book out that explains all of this, easily obtainable from the library. Thanks!

@dommenkosi - actually we're both wrong and I've learnt something this morning. From her official website - Born into a musical family on August 9, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey, Whitney's success might've been foretold. Her legendary heritage is as familiar as America's greatest icons: the daughter of famed singer Cissy Houston and the cousin of singers Dee Dee Warwick and her sister, superstar Dionne Warwick. Whitney's mother and cousins nurtured her passion for gospel music since birth. :-)

Dionne is slightly younger in this video than her cousin Whitney is right now (Whitney's 47) and looks better. I sure hope Whitney gets back on track. As for the Bee Gees, wow, Dionne Warwick made the Bee Gees a WHOLE lot of money by recording and performing their songs. They chose well. I can think of other artists I can only wish had been produced by the Brothers Gibb.

She was 42 here and looked absolutely incredible, and her voice is--well, it's DIonne. Her voice is always stunning. Dionne makes the Bee Gees sound like amateurs with their own song. What she does with the chorus is just phenomenal, her phrasing is perfect and the belting is just what this song needs. She makes it seem so effortless and natural--one of the great voices.

Love this song: the BeeGees are not only great singers and songwriters, but great at picking who can sing some of their songs: Dionne, Dolly, Barbra: doesn't get any better than that. Sing it , Dionne, sing.....!
