John from http://www.discountjuicers.com/ shares with you his techniques that are not mentioned in the instruction manual on how to juice greens most effectively in the Omega VRT 350 HD Juicer. After watching this video, you will have a better understanding on how the Omega VRT handles greens, but more importantly the techniques you can do to minimize the pulp.

  • seems like every video is about the VRT. Lemme know when another 8xxx video is posted.

  • The VRT is currently my favorite juicer, and I have seen its required to make extra videos about it to help people learn to use it correctly. The 8004 / 8006 is a "no brainer juicer" just stick stuff in and it juices, no special techniques necessary. I will make a few future vidoes with the 8004 style machine soon, as for some uses, I do prefer it.

  • Sounds like the smoothies I whip up in my vitamix... if I just strain off the pulp from the vitamix - will I get the same type of juice as the VRT? I know it will heat it up a bit more than the VRT will.. but not thinking about that - will the juice be equal? Thx again!!

  • If you blend in the vitamix (and add water) and then strain, you will get a watered-down juice. The blender runs at high 37,000 rpm and tends to oxidize the produce much more than an 80 rpm juicer, although it will work. I always suggest "the best tool for the job" which is what my grandfather told me.

  • you can juice aloe with the green part on, it will make your juice more bitter. If you peel off the green, then you can juice the clear part only.

  • @rawfoods my other question is: do u juice it with the green layer on or do u peel that off first? also do u wash it after peeling to get the slime off or is that not necessary?

  • Thanks for posting, John. Guess what? I'm so excited - I just got my VRT350 today!! Your videos have been very informative and helped guide us to the purchase we made.

Also, thank you for your "juice offs". They give us a clear view as to how each of the juicers work, w/ their pros and cons. And...thanks for suggesting the documentary "Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead" - its was so inspiring!!! I'm beginning my juice "feast" in a week. Wish me luck. : /

    Cheers!

  • No specific strainer is needed, I just want to walmart, target or an Asian market and purchased a strainer.

  • You can juice it. Just use a small bit ALONG with other fruits/veggies. I blend orange juice with aloe, thats my favorite way to consume it.

which may be of further assistance.

  • you do not have to cut up baby spinach, but I highly encourage you to alternate juicing the spinach then a carrot, then spinach then carrot, etc.

  • I recommend drinking the juice right after its made for the highest benefit. I also recommend using the freshest produce (which is home-grown). You can save it easily a day if you need to do this.
