Written in 1941, this selection raised the morale of troops in World War II. Since all soldiers long for peace, it aptly applies to all wars. Soldiers depicted in this presentation were in the same company, and most were in the same platoon I served in.
More about my tour is available in On Point: A Rifleman's Year in the Boonies: Vietnam 1967-1968, Ballantine Books (Presidio Press), St. Martin's Press, and ISIS Publications. Recipient of the Army Historical Foundation's Distinguished Book Award, 2001.
Recorded on a Boss BR-600 using two guitar parts, bass, and three-part harmony with all parts played and sung by your humble veteran, yours truly. It's in the key of C; feel free to sing along.
Interesting, Divine
All of my musical videos except one have come from the 1940s, including this one. I've learned to appreciate and love songs from that era.
This is actually a British song written during World War II, and engaging in a little wishful thinking of life after the war's end. Glad I could introduce it to you. Roger

Makes you wonder why this isn't mainstream. In fact, I've never heard this style of music before. ...I like it!

You're kidding; this isn't mainstream? =)
Actually, the only person who waved to me today was wearing overalls and driving a pickup.

If this style of music was mainstream today, you'd be attacked by broads everywhere you went! Subtle but emotional and as smooth as you can get. Awesome.
