  • I know Moses did not enter into Canaan(Jerusalem)-but Josua and Caleb and Moses's people did. I want her to try to get around that one.....THIS WOMAN IS AN ATHIEST!!!!!!! She just try's to not be one, always bringing up a claim of the viability of the truth to Biblical history, then a second later, downplays everything and buries Christian history, David, Jesus his lineage....etc,etc..this is PATHETIC!! HATE watching people like this...

  • @jackmarsilva No Joshua and his people the israelites did NOT enter Cannan. There is absolutely no archeological trace of any mass entering in Canaan around the time of Joshua, or even centuries after. The first Israelites were from Cannanite extraction, but semi nomads. The finally settled for good around the 12th century BC in the hills. We know their villages because of their form (oval, like nomads' camps), and because inhabitants there already didn't eat pork.

  • King David existed, however, as it was implied in the documentary I do not think he was of such great importance. He might have been a king or even a rebel. One should understand that the bible had many different authors, many of which had good intentions, but others just tried to manipulate the inscriptions to seek self glory or place their own beliefs, culture above of all others. I don't think they made up characters in the bible but they really did exaggerate far beyond our imagination.

  • @mralanv That's what I think too. Many characters from the OT must probably come from ancient reminiscences of a chief or warleader I guess. The power of these memories is incredible.

  • @jackmarsilva What gives you the proof that Jesus is David's descendant? The Gospels?? It is essential not to forget the Gospels were written in order to evangelize. At first, Jesus' message was ONLY adressed to Jews. His followers wanted to emphasize his legitimacy inside judaism, since before Paul christianity was just a movement of reform inside judaism. The writers of the Gospels had an agenda, and David's genealogy is obviously a part of this agenda.

  • @jackmarsilva Moses' people did NOT enter Cannan. Archeologists know that, because there is no trace of invasion in Cannaan. On the contrary, you see the remainings of hebrew villages, in the hills. They had a different form than other canaanites villages (oval), and no pork bones were found in those villages (when theyr were found in other canaanites villages). This is how we can say these are hebrew settlements. Before settling they were probably nomads. No invasion/fight at all.

  • Besides, Qeiyafa is hardly in Judah's center, but in the Shephelah, which was always more prosperous than the Hill Country. To consider Qeiyafa to be a part of pre-Late Iron IIa Judah is laughable, at best.

  • Finkelstein's examples of Tel Dor and Rehov are particularly poor, since Dor had numerous clearly out-of-context dates, while Rehov was originally used to support the Modified Conventional Chronology. 'Atar Haroa and Ekron are much finer proofs for the Low Chronology.

  • @NECHOII Actually, Israel Finkelstein dates Qeiyafa to the Late Iron I (late 11th-early 10th centuries BC). However, there is no reason to connect Qeiyafa with Jerusalem, and much more immediate reasons to connect it with Beth-Shemesh, Azekah, and Socoh.

  • Wait, you're upset because the facts don't support your belief and you think they should?

  • ...IF there these two ancient HEBREW nations were well developed states. YOU DON'T FIND THIS AT ALL ! Yet you find a number of remains of towns and cities scattered over the two HEBREW LANDS THAT DO INDEED DATE FROM THE 9TH CENTURY B.C.

  • UPDATE : Well, at KIRBET QEIYAFA ( ELAH FORTRESS - NETA'IM ), archaeologist YOSSI GARFINKEL and his team have found NO PIG BONES and JUDAHITE POTTERY. However I agree with DR, FRANCESCA STRAVRAKOPOULOU and archaeologist ISRAEL FINKELSTEIN that this city is 9th century B.C. and NOT 10th century B.C. for the simple reason in that there SHOULD BE MANY 10TH CENTURY CITIES and TOWNS scattered all over ISRAEL and JUDAH

  • Bible is a fucking lie. Christians have been duped by the church for centuries. The popes were nothing but crooks. Give up Christianity if you want to live more fulfilling lives.

  • @keirapotter

You think the mass entering would have been swift? I highly doubt it. It would have been a slow-ish process, so maybe you wouldn't have noticed a mass entering. Considering so much has happened to Isreal since then, to expect plentiful evidence is foolish.
