  • ken i am white belt in bjj, looking at this i feel i could defeat you in a grappling submission contest if both your hands were handcuffed :)

  • @birmzd 27-A trolley square, wilmington, de 19806

  • Ken, how do you know this guy is a Judoka? He dosn't move like a judoka at all, and he seems like hes at least been in a BJJ tournament before as his defence is ok...

I'm not surprised you got his back though, giving up the back is a tough habit to break for many Judo guys.

  • he was ranked on the european circuit, he is good trust me. that is the reason i pulled guard because i watched him, otherwise i would have had no problem standing. i usually do stand with judo blackbelts but i did not want to with this one simply based on strategy.

  • @kenprimo he would have beat you if you were standing, I know him and have trained with him, he is really good

  • @WhiteOps13 thats great, its called jiu-jitsu though. thx

  • Triangle chokes and kimuras are submissions. Submissions are not beholden to only one discipline.

Judo does not teach setup of submissions to the degree that bjj does. Nor does judo teach the positioning and transitions that bjj does.

If you truly believe that bjj has only copied judo over the past century then you are totally mistaken.

  • @cinattra Then here is a question that your going to have to answer... What if I can take you down at will and then I stand back up??? In a Jiu Jitsu tournament of course other players will be at a disadvantage its a Bjj touney. I cross train in BJJ and Judo, and in Judo I don't have to keep playing on the ground I can back away and stand up which negates BJJ all together. Judo is superior in the standing aspect, BJJ is superior on the ground. Cross train both and don't be to stubborn to learn.

  • Hello, Ken.

Your vids always help me a lot.

Would you please upload your instruction of foot-lock escape

that you do from 3:40, or you have already done so?

    Looking forward to your reply.

  • @birmzd your stupid he could choke you with his feet

  • @jtbullfitghter I agree. Dave Camarillo stated that people should start in judo first (vs. BJJ). He said that judo breeds toughness and aggressiveness. He said judo was, by far, the toughest sport he has ever done. There's a lot of pounding in judo. The throws and sweeps are brutal.

  • @cinattra

The positioning is the same in judo. The steps to getting a sub, is different for sure.

  • @jtbullfitghter BJJ is more than that. its a very hard art to learn and if you see it like that than i bet you don't respect any art. i can't believe you do judo but don't respect BJJ.

  • @561sage i'd recommend judo personally...in mma its all about whether or not someone wants to see you fight, and nothing is more pathetic then just jumping on you back like a lil bitch and pulling guard

  • @kenprimo

Never mind I see it's not the one last year up by Chicago

  • @kenprimo

Was that the NAGA up in the burbs of Chicago last year?

  • @MandaNS93 yes but he gets his arm straightened out so ken has to bail
