Faryl Smith & Katherine Jenkins - Amazing Grace

They both have a voice to die for.

I know very little about opera and classical music but in my opinion I think Faryl totally overshadowed Katherine. BOTH are stunning singers btw!

What a terrible combination! Katherine sounds like a man, looks like a hooker and sings along with a kinder child - who put these two together? It's like getting Iron Maiden to sing wi' me gran!

As in my comment above, you are correct about the classical singing. She stated the other night on Graham Norton show she is a classical singer and it would be a good 15 years or something like that before she could be classified as an opera singer as her voice needs to develope a lot more. Remember OPera singers don't use microphones when they sing, their loudness comes from voice projection, which she is still learning..

Both are Mezzo Sepranos, but yeah as you say KAthrine has experience. She was on Graham Norton show the other night and says at 29 her voice is nowhere near properly developed and will change quite a lot over the next 10 years. Was very interesting to watch. They are both brilliant IMO

For me both of them are national treasures. Katherine is a lovely person with a good quality to her voice and her work for the armed forces should not be over looked. Faryl could potentially become the greatest female vocalist ever
