Alexander Hamilton, Young Statesman is actually historical fiction, not a biography, as there is conversation in the book. Since the book is classified as fiction, the author does have some leeway with the story. What was important about the two incidents you mention is that Hamilton showed his strength and courage by conquering his fear of horses and his temper. Those were two aspects of his personality that certainly no one can argue had a strong influence on his adult accomplishments.

hamilton had no fear of horses, and he didn't have a bad temper, especially not as a child I believe.
