  • What are yeast flakes?

  • They are a condiment. I think they taste great. Kind of like natto. I remember eating them at a friends house when I was a kid but I'd almost forgotten about them until I came to Canada. Every house we've stayed in has had them - so they seem to be very popular here.

  • I got mine at a bulk food store. It was called 'flaked nutritional yeast'.

  • That's so interesting! I suppose it goes hand-in-hard with Vegemite. Americans don't consider yeast a condiment. I've never seen it on a cooking show, for instance. I'll search for it at the grocery store. =)

  • I do not have one of those new fangled blenders but I am going to try it by hand anyway and let you know.
