The training methods and diet have since improved inconjunction with drugs and modern day athletes have still not beaten her record .You would expect they would with drugs and better training and diet . In her autopsy no trace evidence of performance enhancing drugs was found as it can be and they were less sophisticated compared to today .

@jondavwal yes with better training and use of drugs and no one nearly 3 decades later have beaten it . They were suspicious , more likely the failed brit athletes , by her age at the time and her physique change . Linford christie won gold in 92 at an age the brits of course were saying too old . I must be using performance enhancing drugs by that reckoning as I a can out run active teens and the weights I lift have gone up . But I know I dont use anything but health supplements . Oh in 30s

Oh talking about the womens events , I know mens events have new records . The testing is stricter now . Oh in her autopsy nothing showed up even though it was a decade later and some tests can reveal drug use in the body . Plus she was getting ready for a comeback in 96 but injury .

steriod use started in the 70's by the 80's if you wasn't doping up you had no chance to compete on the international level!

Just because fl jo never failed dont mean she was not using, ask yourself this do you think marion jones the time she got caught was her first time using? She has been using, so that lets you know you can use and not get caught, flo jo was one of them.

@VideoFreakEvw13 all u have to do is stop taking the steroids one week before testing. also, hgh was not testable at this time, i would think she was on a very primitive version of what marion jones was on, prescribed by victor conte, a cocktail of steroids (mainly androgenic), with hgh and insulin, because she was a good long sprinter to start witth and was a sub 22 runner , i think the EPO could have been left out because her rbc production would have been good (&the roids raise this toO!)
