Attention all James Blackshaw fans!!! James has frequently cited Robbie Basho as a big influence on his music. The tuning used here is very reminiscent of one that James Blackshaw might use. I'm sure that if Robbie was still with us, he would admire what James Blackshaw is doing with his music at this time.

  • Well thank you for this....I found a copy of Robbie Basho's " The Falconers Arm" in the library when I was a kid, subsequent research turned up little, then other distractions....I can't thank you enough for posting this and thus allowing me to " find" Basho again...just amazing!!!!

    regards

  • Basho was, is, and will remain the sensei of twelve string solo guitar. It is wonderful to see a new generation of maestros springing up from his roots.

  • This guy deserves more fame

  • AMAZING.

  • schöner Song.. (Venus in Krebs)

  • @meherbaba01 he died from a stroke in 1986 following a botched chiropractic treatment - so much for the spiritual path

  • @1ArtfulBodger Robbie was a sincere spiritual seeker on the spiritual path. He spent time in India, was lucky enough to have had Meher Baba's darshan in 1969. He was my friend at Cal Berkeley, was a Sufi, a gentleman, and one whose feet were not really on this earth. He died in the late 70's or early 80's. God bless you Robbie wherever you may be.

  • Robbie (Basho was his stage name) was a sincere spiritual seeker on the spiritual path. He spent time in India, was a lover of Meher Baba, and died in the late 70's or early 80's. He was never really in this world. God bless you Robbie wherever you may be.

  • well said!

  • Robbie Basho´s unique style and feel comes right from, and goes right to, the heart.. Even on piano (Druze) he is magnificently unique.

  • Wine Song is sensuous beauty epitomized.
