Part 42: This is a multi-part blog where I do some track work and put scenery on the interchange section of my model railroad. In this part I start building the road that will run along the front of this part of the layout.

Music Notes:

The music on this video was recorded using Sonar Home Studio Ver 6.0. The drums and keyboards were played on an M-Audio Keystation 61 ES and/or sequenced in the MIDI Editor. The bass is an Essex Fretless Jazz with Dimarzio pickups. The guitar is an Alvarez Accoustic

  • I actually enjoy the narrative. I do not enjoy watching the high speed video without your insights.

  • Hmmm....Well the reason I go into hi-speed mode is that I don't really have anything to say but I still want you to be able to see what I'm doing. If I feel I have something important to say then I'll drop out of time lapse mode and say it. In hindsight I'm thinking I should have done some time lapse on my "Hand Laying N scale Turnouts" series. It's 58 parts and over 5 hours long. My hat's off to anybody who can sit through all of that. 8-).

  • I guess I'm trying to walk the line between being informative/entertaining and tedious. Sometimes it works better than others.

  • i think your "Hand Laying N scale Turnouts" series was great. wouldn't be the same if you sped it up. great series anyway =D

  • It would take forever to go back and re-work all the videos. Oh well. It is what it is...

  • I actually did go through the entire turnout series about 2 months ago. Took about a week to go through it on spare time, but I did enjoy it, I was glad to see there was no time lapse in that series. Especially something that can be complicated as laying a turnout for first timers, it was nice to be there for the whole thing in real time.

  • For me personally, I really enjoy the high speed. You do a good job explaining the "how to" part of it. But sometimes these projects just take so long. The high speed quickly gets thru all that in order to get to your next point/lesson, and all in all, saves me time and I learn more stuff!

  • Joey here i love your videos
