I dont know if your still doing your thing but need as much help with this language as I can get.

but there are many tagalog variations, varying from grammar, accent, and even in some words (bulaceños, caviteños, batangeños, manileños, etc)
In my opinion, the Manileños' (although pure manileños are hard to find since it has been our center for trade for so many years, meaning there are so many people from different provinces with different dialects living in manila) accent, tone, and grammar is the base for the standard tagalog = Filipino language

"liligo ako" is also correct!!!
i speak as from Batangas, and Batangas tagalog is the purest and still use "old" Tagalog.
don't know if some don't understand it but it is correct. maybe it is not used in some tagalog dialects but it IS correct.
"maliligo ako" is also correct
