You have the technique down but it needs more rhythm. Getya groove going first then play in the pocket.

@ZappaFan101 Exactly. He's got very decent skills, but it seems he might need to work on grooving, on feel. Those are more difficult to learn. Hell, many would say you're kind of born with a good feel or groove, and it's a matter of honing it.

slap is a technique assossciated with funk, but that doesn't mean any slap riff can be instantly considered funk

Nice playing no doubt, but its not really funky. Playing funky has nothing to do with slap. Funky bass playing is all about timing.
