Definitely Russell's best song!! So wonderful done with Maire Brennan. This is just SO pretty.
Russell also does an excellent cover of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters". :)

I love this song. I am at university and I always play it in the background, to help me through the work. Excellent song

I prefer the original version of Saylon Dola written by Nigel Hess and performed by Cameleon.
It was used in the serie, The One Game.

@sonho1234 Many people do not know that Máire Ní Bhraonáin (Moya Brennan) and Eithne Ní Bhraonáin (Enya) are sisters in a musical family of nine, and performed together on early Clannad albums. I have never been able to see Clannad or Moya live here in the U.S. Clannad once appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, but they were short on time and so the performance was over the credits and short. Very sad.

@hejaleksand yes, it was that CD

@PRINCE23062003 Hi Prince, sorry for a very late reply, I feel I should defend myself here though. Could you inbox me the book title etc. Gaelic is my first language and I write articles in the language. I can promise you that these lyrics are in Gaeilge. Are you sure the publications you mention are authorized? I had a friend (who has written two novels in Irish, and teaches Irish at UCD) look over the transcription and translation, and they are fine to him. Thanks for your time!

The original version of Saylon Dola written by Nigel Hess and performed by Cameleon as used in the mini-series The One Game had different, nonsense lyrics. That version has been posted here as well (without the lyrics). In comparing both versions, notice where the phrase "Saylon Dola" first appears in the lyrics. The Gaelic lyrics sung by Maire Brennan here are beautiful, but they are NOT the original lyrics.

@drbobdrake the lyrics posted here may not be the original, but they're the lyrics to the russell and Máire version.

@sonho1234 Absolutely! I first learned of Máire when I first heard Clannad's Theme from Harry's Game playing over the credits of the U2 film Under a Blood Red Sky. I bought Clannad's Magical Ring album as a result and then all of their albums. It is amazing that one family could produce both Eithne (Enya) and Máire (Moya), two of the most beautiful Celtic voices around!
