@sofiakharkover I'm Polish and I can tell you that it is close, but still not perfect. Wislawa is close, but "s" should be said like in "snake" not "z"; and Szymborska - it shoud start with a "sh" sound. Other than that, it's pretty good. I hope it helps a bit.
Thank you so much for posting this. It's a terrific reading, not just b/c her poem sends such a poignant message and Szymborska deserves more notoriety, but b/c Mrs. Briggs insists on the pronunciation of Szymborska's name, which can look intimidating for those unfamiliar with the language. I speak both Russian and Ukranian and was STILL unsure of how to pronounce her first name. Thanks!
