Here we see a few engineers workings to Whitemoor following various weekend engineering works.

We start at March station where we see 66137 enter the yard having come from Ely North Junction with a mix of osprey track panel flats and JNA ballast boxes plus a bass wagon, closely followed by 66047 and 66141 top & tailing 5 autoballasters from Stowmarket. Whilst 66047 & 66141 were stopped at the Norwood Road signal I took a quick drive up to Norwood Road to catch them heading off the signal into the yard. A short time later 66118 enters the yard from the West with a long rake of empty ballast boxes from Werrington Junction.

We end the video with a few clips from Middle Road level crossing, including 66719 running light engine to Peterborough, emitting a burning smell as it passed. I'd hoped to catch 3 workings from Werrington Junction here, but these didn't run.

  • Hi Chris, Some good shots there. I was going to come over but decided not to when I got the call saying the Possesion north of Werrington was running late.

your first train 66137 is 6T11 STOWMARKT 08:00 WHITEMOOR 09:59 as 6T64 is a GBRf working which is a turning move from Whitemoor.

  • @The37209phantom Thanks for that info Col. On that basis 66137 was 45 early and 66047 90 early as these two arrived at approx 9:15 & 9:25.

  • Very good shots Chris - engineers can be luck of the draw - no guarantee they will appear so some great shots there

  • @NapierNimbus Thanks Ian. Still was worth the trip even though the afternoon workings didn't materialise.

  • @dj205205 Thanks Richard. You never know what the engineers workings will turn out. It was good to be able to get some this time.

  • @HomeMoviePerson Cheers Hayden. Not a problem I'll see you again soon. I took the opportunity to find a few locations along this line for future workings and was pleasantly surprised by Middle Road. One definitely for the future.

  • Excellent shots Chris. Looks like I missed some great workings. I really like the last two locations at Norwood and Middle Road. Middle Road would look great on a bright day for workings. Sorry that I couldnt join you on this occasion.
