We had to build this for a project in Mr. Parris's physics honors class. It took about 35 hours to plan and build.
Parameters of project: Had to be less than 7 ft. tall. Maximum allowed counterweight was 90 lbs.
We had to make a 30 yd. field goal (we made 60 yds.) Towards the end we were shooting 1 lb. baseballs. Our furthest throw was 81 yds.
