dude the DOOM GUY was actually made with no name because the creators wanted people feel in with the game and think that their him killing demons thus the FIRST PERSON perspective. JUST SO YOU KNOW .

actually Id software drew a big inspiration from evil dead and 80's horror movies doom was the first but in duke nukem he says a few of ash's lines "hail to the king baby!" "groovy". but yeah evil dead was a big inspiration behind doom
