Unintentional drag race Golf 1.8 Convertible VS Peugeot 205 1.4 Génération

I may have accidentally dragraced a Golf Convertible 1.8.
Stuff was a bit slow at the light, so I decided I'd choose the left lane at the next light.
The Golf, predictably, didn't agree and put the pedal to the metal. I just bought my current car (A 1998 Peugeot 205 1.4 Génération) so I don't have proper clutch control yet. Having said that, I usually don't even race. But this guy kept driving beside me so I sort of had to put my foot down to be able to get back to the right lane. Long story short: When we reached the allowed speed I let go of the accelerator and the guy passed me on the right. Which isn't even allowed, Ah well. I won.
