Recorded in 1985, "Dear Mr. Jesus" featured group member Sharon Batts, then 6 years old, on lead vocals
The lyrics of "Dear Mr. Jesus" deal with child abuse and are sung from the perspective of a girl writing a letter to Jesus, expressing her concerns after seeing a news report about a "little girl beaten black and blue" by her parents. @itsdman07 Yep, it was out around Christmas 1987. I remember a teenage coworker of mine complaining about it being "inappropriate" for Christmastime & I just thought, "Oh, yeah, heaven forbid anyone's fun should be spoiled by the knowledge that little children are being abused."

this song was written when Lisa Steinberg was killed buy her father Joel, and his girlfriend (or wife) Hedda Nussbaum. I remember when it came out, I was in maybe 7th grade. Happened in NY.

Omg!!! I herd this song a long time ago and i was in child abuse videos and i rememberd this song but i for got the name so i looked up a lot of random crap for a hour and finnally i found it!!! Its so sad
