Anyone who says that Jesus doesn't teach about hell, hasn't read the Gospels.

I was a Red-Letter Christian long before I learned there was a religious-political movement named as such. I must say that I'm not the biggest fan of Tony Campolo, I feel he's politicized RLC's and used this to play the same games the American Religious Right has been playing for decades.
RLC is not so much about fearing God as it is emulating Christ, hence, being Christian. Christ gave us work to do, and RLC's seek to get it done.

THE MUSLIMS HAVE ALWAYS ASKED THE CHRISTIANS... IF JESUS IS GOD, THEN WHY AREN'T THE LETTERS RED IN THE BEGINNING OF YOUR RED LETTER BIBLE'S? I GUESS IT WAS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE CHRISTIANS CHANGED THE BLACK LETTERS INTO RED AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS GOD FORSAKEN BOOK.

Those who are angry at God do not see him clearly. Those who see his wrath over his glory do not understand him clearly. But those who see God as a kind God sees the truth. And those who see his glory over his wrath also sees the truth. Love your enemy. See if you can do that.

I see that some in their comments totally missed your point. Jesus is the Word as you pointed out and he was in the beginning creating the world. So as the pre-incarnate Christ everthing he said should also be in red before he became flesh he was talking to us. Very good point I hadn't thought of befpre.

This video states that humanity is wicked and that Jesus is motivated by anger and hatred of sin. Makes you wonder what motivated Jesus to die for our sins? I assume this post would proclaim hatred (of sin, of course).
So which God is the real God? The one who would destroy Sodom or the one who would let a woman caught in adultery go unpunished?
It's interesting to note that without Jesus there would be no Bible. There would still be the Torah, but no Bible as we know it today.

I don't think Tony Campolo would say to read ONLY the red letters, at least I hope not. Jesus words come to us from the full Biblical narrative, I'm not fond of Christians being critical of other Christians, though I suppose that comment in and of itself is a Christian being critical of a critical Christian. I would say the red letter Christians have a terrific starting point to begin engaging the Biblical narrative. My two cents, probably only worth 1 cent but just a thought.

@ckacres I think you are a little confused over Red letter Christianity. It never insinuates that Jesus dying on the cross is the least important thing from anything else Jesus preached or did. In my faith, preaching about a new kingdom and reformation was being a Christian was all about. In reality RLC is Christianity. The name exist today to show how far gone American Culture Christianity a.k.a ACC, has taken the religion. Making the words of Christ your core belief is essential.
I am a Red Letter Christian, and I don't understand why you make a big deal about a movement that hopes to examplify the quotations of Jesus Christ in our lives. Using the bible as an excuse to bring down a movement perhaps you don't yet understand is very counter productive in spreading the gospel.

My friend. You have not used discernment to really comprehend Tony Campolo. I suggest you really investigate him and his "Theology"

God said, "I am a jealous God" but we teach our children that jealousy is a bad thing? Should we be worshiping a Jealous, Wrathful, vengeful God, if those are the very traits we dispise in Human Beings?

*sigh..You act as if all of your arguments are new and intelligent, as if they have never been asked before, nor discredited. Do a Google Search or YouTube Search for an Apologist by the name if Ravi Zacharias his videos answers all of your trite questions.
But for the sake of argument there are correct forms of Jealously. If my kids loved their teacher, and craved their teacher more then me.I have a rightful, just form of jealousy. Being jealous in forms of possessions and greed is different.

" your trite questions." wow you think that massacre of babies, women, children taking virgins for sex slaves, haveing primal emotions of Jealousy, wrath, are TRITE? wow what do you do in your spare time rape and kill women and children? These are the very basis of all human suffering, and you call it trite? you need to talk to Jesus, ask forgiveness, and be thank full there are people out here that actually care about what happened at My Lai, go look at those photos and tell me you dont care?

The reason I claim them to be Trite...is because they have been answered. They are not new questions...
I will be very simplistic in my Answer.
If you are the Creator of Life and Death, then someone dieing is of no value to you. For the same reason we can make a clay pot and then smash it on the ground without care.
When God sends his Wrath on someone, because he Created that persons Life, it's of no value. Sure it upsets God to destroy his Creation, but he is not evil in doing so.

However. If I were to take life away from someone, because I cannot create life, then it would be wrong for me to do so. Again, A Painter can destroy his own paintings, but if I were to destroy a painters paintings then I would be damaging others property.
Easy.
