Yes he is a sikh. They are the renowned in the east as warrior-saints, they ones who repulsed the last taliban invasion from afghanistan to india after 50% of the sikh race had been killed by the invaders; also started the peaceful civil resistance against british rule which Gandhi joined years later & also fought against hitlers allies with 85,000 killed (mainly teenagers).
