  • There was a huge underground "grab what you can get" mentality around the area that has lead to a truly underground community of silent collectors. They view themselves as "finding" objects - universal stories amongst locals., what I've found talking to alot of these locals, and seeing first hand selling antiques, there are people throughout this entire area with quite impressive "private" collections. That would make a great doc in and of itself. Thanks for comment.

  • Yeah.. what did happen to the artifacts? If the Smithsonian got ahold of them they've been conveniently "lost."

  • The mounds are energetic power points of the planet.

  • Great video (both parts). I've been to that Cahokia Mounds state park, and climbed to the top of Monks Mound (the largest mound at that park), and saw the view of Saint Louis in the distance, and thought about how over 800 years ago, 30,000 people once lived here, and wondered if something similar will happen 800 years from now... would people in the future wonder about the people that once lived in Saint Louis itself. It made me feel humble and privileged to be there.

  • what i wanna know is has even one Native archaeologist investigated this place? if Britain has Time Team, then the Native community needs a Time Team too! this site is in Pawnee, Osage, area isnt it? they should control the entire site! since theyre ancestors lived around there!

  • Fantastic, I heard about these mounds on a BBC radio programme. Thank you for these great videos.

  • This is really interesting. I used to work at the Arch and loved the Museum of Westward Explansion-- I'm going to check out the second half in a bit-- I like this stuff, it is very , "pbs" :)

  • Great work! Both part 1 and part 2. Will you be doing more work on other Native American peoples and culture? I look forward to seeing more.
