There are non arcilogical proofs that the Vikings sailed to New Zealand, but some texts writhen by the Scottish man Taine Ruaridh Mhor sugest the Vikings was there in 1100AD.
The text stats:
In the 1100th AD Taine Ruaridh Mhor left Scotland and sailed to New Zealand with 95 members of his family and friends. They where taken there by three (3) Long ships lead by Norwegian Vikings.
160 years later three Viking ships with Norwegian Captains was sent to New Zealand to see if there was anything left of the colonies established by Taine Ruaridh Mhor.
The Vikings found two colonies, on at the South Island and one on the North Island.

  • @aotearoastyle You do realise that it wasn't until the 18th century that the English reached the area. Its still complete bullshit.

  • Also, there was an article in an Air New Zealand magazine a little over 4-5 years ago which had an article on the mysterious non-Maori stone structures of Waipoua forest. It also talks about the barring of entry into the forest by local iwi and the destruction of some of these structures in the past decade.

Check out this video about a potential Celtic past in New Zealand watch?v=7aYW4ac0oYc Interesting stuff!

  • Also, although the content of most of this video may be, ummm, rubbish, there is scant evidence of a human presence/other cultures in New Zealand pre-maori. For example there are remains of stone structures throughout New Zealand, a 500 year old Tamil bell was found being used as a cooking pot by maori in 1836 and in 1878, in the roots of an uprooted tree, a non-Maori carving of a bird was found, later named korotangi, carved in green serpentine, a stone only found in China and Indonesia.

  • I hate to say it, but it is impossible that the texts of Taine Ruaridh Mhor talked of a place called "New Zealand" since it was only called that in 1642 by Abel Tasman...

  • Well, the discourse here has been highly amusing.

The point to all of this is that here is no proof, one way or the other. Yet. Perhaps, if we were allowed to look for proof and if the Government would sanction such investigations, a lot of people's questions could be answered.

In the mean time, The Spanish Helmet will explain all about how the Spanish beat the English to NZ. Not the Maori though.

  • @BIoodrunk What do you know about mori ori history in NZ? Ever seen a mori ori historical document of their life in NZ written by their culture ? . We know very little of NZ before the Maori tribes came to be so how do you as an individual know personally what cultures had visited NZ before or during this time ?

  • @BIoodrunk Seeing that you dont have any proof of anything except for your own mutterings you yourself are yet to prove that you are not daft . How is it valid ? All you do is agree that a British ship made it to NZ weather the year is or not specified is meaningless because you acknowledge that ships made it here , the mori ori's and the Maoris also . But you go ahead and conjure up some fabricated meaning to satisfy your own underachieved ego that no other nations made it here

  • @aotearoastyle Haha how is that invalid? You cannot be fucking serious, you have no proof whatsoever of Viking colonisation in New Zealand. Did you just learn about the word 'daft'?

  • @BIoodrunk That was a completely invalid point . Keep being daft then

  • @BIoodrunk The vikings were better on the ocean than the English were , yet England sailed here did they not . Dont be daft all your life
