  • Also I think Bruckner fans would enjoy reading a recent review by Jay Nordlinger of the Bruckner concerts in NYC. The title is "Love letters to God."

  • Most of these comments are heartwarming. I'm happy to find such love and understanding of Bruckner here. I just finished a wonderful book about him by Werner Wolff. It was written in 1942. Wolff's father was one of the founders of the Berlin Phil. Wolff met Bruckner when he was a child. He also understood Bruckner's music as few do. The book is titled, "Rustic Genius."

  • What a magnificent memorial you have provided for the greatest conductor who ever lived. I have virtually all of his recordings. You have done a wonderful job.

Please keep them coming and thank you so much. You can also find additional pieces from Classical Video Rarities

  • unbelievable how they use time!!

  • tears

  • Watching a rehearsal is the coolest thing - it makes me realize the conductor's work is pretty much done by the time the performance comes up. It's all the work and the vision of the conductor that goes in before hand that's of interest to me! This video portrays the brilliance of Celibidache and I want to thank CelibidacheFan for posting it.

  • @munkybrain

conductors NEVER want to be bothered with such mundane details, and professional orchestras never bother conductors with such. I was a professional orchestral musician myself for many years, and we were expected, even in as modest calibre a band as my orchestra, to have them down pat before rehearsals even started; and if we didnt, for we were only a modest orchestra in attainment if not boast, the conductors were sometimes furious!
