very good reporting! Cape Verdean society used to be centered on agriculture and the land, but these days this connection between the people and land are fading. The different styles of vegetation, herbal medicine etc is forgotten by new generation. I like this.

good idea. i think thats much easier said than done. companies should move to africa though, they would make money and with the economy heading south, that might be a good idea.

working as a peace corps volunteer, ive found it takes alot of energy to first convince poor people they need to innovate and second get them to continue doing it once you leave.
except for the rare few like domingos, most people are a tough sell. guess that's all the more reason to make domingos famous
