  • @TheSouthern4501 your right i googled it after i left my last comment lol and out of all the people thats alway talking about how much i love the the n&w j class 4-8-4 engines you would think i would have already know that back then but i didnt know it was also the 53rd annversary of pearl harbor thanks for the xtra info buddy!!!

  • best experience of my life to see her leave birmingham for the last time when i was 7 years old

  • @grizzleybearz282004 #611's last run was December 7, 1994, coincidentally on the 53rd anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

  • @HaloCE14 im pretty sure j class 611 was running on the rail after 1994 sometime in the 2000s i could be wrong but some of the videos iv seen look pretty modern qty that wasnt around in the 90s

  • CSX NEVER REALLY HAD ONE, THEY RELIED ON SPONSORS LIKE THE KENTUCKY RAILWAY MUSEUM WITH EX-L&N ENGINE #152 AND C.P. HUNTINGTON CHAPTER N.R.H.S. ALONG WITH THE FORT WAYNE SOCIETY AND NICKEL PLATE ROAD #765......THE 1980S AND EARLY 1990S WERE A GOOD TIME TO CATCH STEAM ON CSX AND NS....NEVER TO BE REPEATED AGAIN!!!

  • @HaloCE14 I completelly agree with you I was still in highschool in those days and I went to my english class and my teacher met me at the door with a sad look on her face she showed me a newspaper from Bluefield WV where she was from stateing the NS was killing the steam program I was so upset I never got to see 611 or 1218 running I though I was going to cry that day and i live in a small town and went to a small school and Cowboys dont cry but that sadened me beyond belief

  • @ripjump12 Did CSX ever have a Steam Program? lol NS is reopening their Steam Program!!! Not sure if CSX did or ever will have one, if so I'm not even sure what engines they have?

  • @WildGuy00000 I love your comment and like 6 months after you say this NS announced they are reopening the Steam Program, however, no plans have been announced as of right now to restore the 611 or 1218. I'm hoping this will change in the following years, I think they might be starting out small and seeing how big an interest people still have in excursions. For me I'm glad its coming back just wished I live closer to Chattanooga where Sou 4501 and 610 will be running
