  • I would recommend reading up on Home-Barista before making a decision. The La Peppina is great for temperature control, but sacrifices steaming ability and espresso body for temperature control and clarity.

There are ways to control temperature on a La Pavoni (or Gaggia Factory which I have) so that you can have full bodied espresso and steaming, but I have both and like them for different reasons.

  • Yes, easily hooked up with PID as La Peppina has open kettle. Thermocouple is dangled inside kettle and La Peppina power cord is plugged into SSR of PID.

The temperature display in the background is the PID controller.

Since no modifications were made, the La Peppina can still be operated stand-alone.

  • Magic mate. I love it. I am thinking of getting one of these as I want a lever but not one with overheating issues (eg la pav). Would you recommend this machine?

  • Does this machine hook up with a PID?

  • wow!
